Meet Mike Berenstain
Mike Berenstain grew up watching his parents work together to write about and draw these lovable
bears. Eventually he started drawing and writing about them too. Though Stan died in 2005, and Jan in 2012, Mike continues to create Berenstain Bear adventures from his studio in Pennsylvania.
Meet Stan and Jan Berenstain
Stan and Jan Berenstain began writing and illustrating books for children in the early 1960s, when their two sons, Michael and Leo, were young readers themselves. They lived on a hillside in Bucks County, Pennsylvania – a place that looks a lot like Bear Country.
